Journey of Faith: Chapter one, Chemo round two

January 15,2003
Dear Praying Friends,
Thank you for carrying me through this roller coaster ride with your faithful prayers. I don’t think father and I can go through the trial without so many supports and prayers.

Father had his first shot of chemo on December 23, 2002. First few days came along quite all right but later he started to develop several severe reactions. My daily telephone conversation with him dropped dramatically from 30 minutes to 30 seconds some days. For 10 days he suffered tremendous abdominal pain and other discomforts. In fact, after the first week, he didn’t think he could survive the six-month treatment. It turned out that the weeklong constipation and gas in the intestine was the cause of constant abdominal pain. Anyway, he finally gets better and is hopeful again.

Please pray for father’s second chemotherapy on January 17, 2003 that by God’s grace
1. He will not have so many discomfort reactions as last time.
2. He will not have constipation and has good appetite and good sleep. (He lost 8-9 pounds of weight since first chemo, now only weights 110 pounds and is 5ft 7inch tall.)

3. His white blood count can maintain in normal range. (His white blood count was only one-tenth of normal people’s after the first chemo and had to have 6 shots to boost it.)
4. My two younger sisters who take care of father will have good health.
5. My trip to Taiwan from January 24 to February 8, 2003 will be helpful to my family.

“But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. For surely, O Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.”

May the Name of the Lord be Glorified!
May You live in His Love and Grace!

Gratefully,
Lydia Lin
